Sincerely: Elli and I talked about this a lot. Jack spends the entire comic being a goofy dumbass, we really wanted this moment to be jarring, a huge tone shift. We had a joke while working on these pages where we were just constantly asking each other shit like “who the fuck is that guy? where did he come from?” You can’t just introduce new characters at the eleventh hour, Cin and Elli. You can’t do that.
