So this transition page is the first of it’s kind, in that it’s an emotional transition instead of a literal passing-in-real-life style of transition. Sin came up with that! Because they have virtually no direct contact with each other in this book, it seems really important to connect Jack and Kyan visually this way. Especially if you know how book 1 ends.

Silly aside, we had this little in-joke with some peers to try and cram as many needlessly difficult things to draw into one page as possible – like ‘a squad of soldiers carrying their bikes up a fire escape’. 2 out of 3 in panel 5 isn’t bad 😛
