Elliwiny: So the first draft of Sara was pretty flat, mostly defined by being Jack’s Ex and kind of a nag, the functional glue that barely holds the team together. Which is redundant when we meet the real mastermind, the REAL glue a little later. Sin and I knew this was a problem and talked about it to death when we were hammering out the script for Opportunities, because the tension between her and Jack is such a central pillar to the story!

Anyway, we came up with this idea that she’s only a good liar when she’s practiced a whole lot, and everything else clicked into place like magic. Her attention to detail and solid plans are her strength, just as snap decisive improv is Jack’s. She gets antsy when deviations happen, and Jack gets depressed when everything is running just so. They were a killer team, but their skills feed into their tension, too.
